The goals were to focus primarily on our premium products for the week, increase our customer coverage, sales volumes and product awareness. Shell Lubricants sponsors the GTI

Sol Guyana Inc. has joined forces with the Government Technical Institute (GTI) in Georgetown, Guyana to secure the future for students of the Motor Vehicle Engine Systems Program with a three-year sponsorship pledge. Under the arrangement, Sol Guyana Inc. the Country’s Shell Lubricants Macro Distributor, will provide two students selected from the program with annual industrial job attachments, and also present an annual prize to the highest performing student in the program. Other support will include lubricants technical training delivered in association with Shell Lubricants; personal protective equipment for staff and students enrolled in the program and annual refurbishing of the Motor Vehicle Engine Systems Classroom.

Sol Guyana Supports Back to School Drives

Sol Guyana Inc. has been a part of the Agricola Community for more than 12 years with operations spanning across the country. At Sol, we are passionate about supporting the Caribbean and the communities in which we operate. After hearing the plea of Mrs. Elizabeth Williams – Niles, a teacher and concerned resident of the Agricola-Mc Doom Communities, Sol Guyana committed to support the ‘Agricola Children’s Back to School Youth Project’. Support was in the form of supplying 100 lunch bags and notebooks, and partnering with several other organizations who have also initiated Back to School Projects. A special thanks to groups such as the Rotaract Club of Georgetown, Rome Methodist Church, Soesdyke Community Policing Group, Eccles Assembly Outstation Sunday School and Rapture Ready Youth Group for their works in relation to community and youth development.

Sol Guyana host Stakeholders

In April, Sol Guyana reintroduced itself to its customers and the general public as a new, energized team with a renewed vision, ready to fuel tremendous growth in the local petroleum industry.
The annual Stakeholders’ Appreciation event allowed the Sol Guyana staff to build rapport with customers in a more informal, celebratory setting. Representatives from The Sol Group of companies, Government of Guyana. Public and Private Sectors were all in attendance. The evening consisted of inspiring speeches, light entertainment, and of course, much laughter. At the end of the event, each attendee received a token of appreciation and many vowed to continually support the Sol brand.

Sol Guyana Donates to Houston Secondary School

As part of Sol’s HSSE initiatives, Sol Guyana decided to share the importance of health, safety and the environment with the students and teachers of the Houston Secondary School. The local team donated garbage bins to the school to help improve the surrounding appearance and highlight proper safety and trash disposal practices. The donation was welcomed, as the school had a situation of inadequate bins to serve the entire student population. Sol’s partnership with Houston Secondary School will continue for future projects.

Sol Guyana at Berbice Expo & Trade Fair

As part of its annual calendar of activities, the Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce, hosted the Berbice Expo and Trade Fair at the Albion Sports Complex, Corentyne under the theme “Promoting Entrepreneurship for a Diversified Economy”. The expo was held October 6-9, 2017 and has been dubbed the single largest event in the Berbice region that allows for both large and small businesses to gain exposure through sales and promotions.
Sol Guyana took the opportunity to participate by sending a team of representatives who showcased, promoted and marketed the Sol Gas and Shell Lubricants brands. The team was able to vigorously gain new customers and recommit existing customers by using exciting games, prizes, safety tips and special sales discounts. The Sol Guyana team saw high booth traffic as well as overwhelming sales on all products offered, making this event a huge success.
