Sol Guyana Supports Back to School Drives

Sol Guyana Inc. has been a part of the Agricola Community for more than 12 years with operations spanning across the country. At Sol, we are passionate about supporting the Caribbean and the communities in which we operate. After hearing the plea of Mrs. Elizabeth Williams – Niles, a teacher and concerned resident of the Agricola-Mc Doom Communities, Sol Guyana committed to support the ‘Agricola Children’s Back to School Youth Project’. Support was in the form of supplying 100 lunch bags and notebooks, and partnering with several other organizations who have also initiated Back to School Projects. A special thanks to groups such as the Rotaract Club of Georgetown, Rome Methodist Church, Soesdyke Community Policing Group, Eccles Assembly Outstation Sunday School and Rapture Ready Youth Group for their works in relation to community and youth development.

Sol St. Maarten Donates School Supplies

Player Development is an organisation in St. Maarten that works with at-risk youth, under the guardianship of Coach Tom Burnett. After the passing of Hurricane Irma, the Centre which houses this organization was destroyed.  Each month, members of The Rotary Club of St. Maarten-Mid Isle volunteer at Player Development, helping out with homework, reading, maths and sports.
When the members of the Mid Isle Rotary Club learned of Player Development’s misfortune, they felt compelled to help in any way possible. They were informed that the group needed reading books, as well as backpacks with school supplies. Mid Isle was able to source the books, and then reached out to Mr. David Antrobus of Sol St. Maarten to assist with the backpacks and school supplies. Together, they were able to provide the members of Player Development with desperately needed school supplies.
